NAMSCON has, over the years, become a premier platform for thought leaders, researchers, educators, and practitioners in the field of medicine and allied sciences to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and inspire innovation. This year’s conference will uphold that rich tradition while addressing emerging challenges and opportunities in healthcare, biomedical sciences, and medical education.
Hosting NAMSCON 2025 at PGIMER, Chandigarh is especially meaningful. The National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) (NAMS) is a prestigious institution known for its academic excellence in the medical field. Established on April 21, 1961, under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, NAMS plays a pivotal role in meeting both medical and social goals through its various academic initiatives and programs. Since the first Convocation of the Academy being graced by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, the activities are on the constant run. The PGIMER is established by the untiring efforts of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab under the support of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India who envisioned the institutions of scientific excellence as temples of learning and places of pilgrimage. Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the Nehru Hospital on 7th July 1963 being celebrated each year as the foundation day of the Institute. The Institute has been functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India being an autonomous body by the Act of Parliament since 1967. read more...
